This is one of the functions of the Steam mobile application that allows you to protect your account. The authenticator generates a code that must be entered each time you log into your Steam account. This one-time code changes every 30 seconds and is impossible to guess.
Such a security system, often referred to as 'two-factor', is more effective than using only a login and password.
The authenticator does not require Internet access, but your phone must be set to the correct time.
So in addition to allowing you to exchange items, you will also securely protect your account and be able to recover it faster in case of a hack!
Solution to the problemIf you have not connected the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator to your phone, then all item exchange transactions will be delayed by 15 days! As a result, in order to exchange items, you will have to wait about 2 weeks!
Therefore, it is urgent to solve this problem!
For this we need:
Download the Steam Guard app on your phone. It is completely free and can be found in the AppStore, GooglePlay and Microsoft Store.
Android users without access to Google Play can download version 2.3.9 from here.
After installing the application, log in to your Steam account using your credentials. Expand the main menu by clicking on the badge in the upper left corner. Select Steam Guard.
Here you can click 'Add Authenticator' to set it up, or 'Help' if you want to know more about this feature.
Next, you need to enter your phone number, if it is not already linked to the Steam account. SMS message will be sent exactly to this number. If you lose access to your account, you can get it back by requesting a message from Steam.
Enter your phone number. Select an international code from the dropdown list. Steam will send a text message with a verification code.
Enter this code to confirm that you are receiving messages from Steam. If you didn't receive the code, click 'Send Code Again'.

When you enter the confirmation code, we will provide you with a recovery code. Write down this code and keep it in a safe place. Don't skip this step!
